Detroit Tigers beat Chicago White Sox 5-4 at Rate Field on Wednesday night. Sawyer Gipson-Long made his first start since 2023 and the Detroit Tigers scored 4-1st inning runs to open the game. Riley Greene doubled home two runs in the inning while Dillon Dingler & Javy Baez each singled home a run. Chicago White Sox came back with runs in the 3rd, 4th & 5th to tie the game at 4. Wenceel Perez doubled to lead off the 8th after originally being called out at 2nd, the Detroit Tigers challenged and the call was reversed. Colt Keith then doubled home Wenceel Perez for the eventual game-winning run. Tommy Kahnlee shut the door in the 9th for the save, and the Detroit Tigers have won two of the first three games of the series.
