Set in Japan in the year 1600 at the dawn of a century-defining civil war, the series is an original adaptation of James Clavell’s 1975 novel from creators Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks. Shōgun premieres with two episodes on Disney+ in Canada and on Hulu, and FX in the United States February 27, 2024, followed by new episodes weekly.
