She grew up dancing, and struggled with an obsessive quest to be thin. She felt that her value and worth were tied to a number on the scale. After reaching her highest weight of 180 pounds, Deidra’s roller coaster ride of dieting began. She was either on a diet, or completely off one. She would lose, then give up and gain everything back. In July of 2018, Deidra was tired of feeling terrible. She felt broken, and knew it was time to do something different. After some research, Deidra stumbled upon Dr. Fung’s books, and The Intermittent Fasting Podcast. Deidra began her IF journey, and in four months lost 50 pounds. She was settled into the lifestyle, and enjoying it immensely. Deidra then noticed gradual weight gain, and discovered that she was post-menopausal. She follows Dr. Anna Cabeca’s approach to manage her hormones. Deidra feels that IF saved her life and freed her from her obsessions.
