The Dynamic State of Balance: Wende Zomnir of Urban Decay

When Wende Zomnir was ready for a change from her corporate job, her initial thought was to drop it all to become a freelance writer and scuba instructor. However, as fate would have it, she soon met the woman who would become her future co-founder. Lamenting the variety of exciting colors in the mid-90’s makeup scene, the two bonded and Urban Decay cosmetics was born. A fan of big hair and big makeup since her childhood in Texas, Wende always had a creative, adventurous streak. Pair that with a dash of grit and resourcefulness, and you get one tenacious entrepreneur. Wende famously made her first sale with Nordstrom within 24 hours of contacting their buyer.
