In 2018, Pulitzer prize winner Cathal McNaughton showed a shocked world the true horrors of the Rohingya refugee crisis and in doing so earned a Pulitzer Prize. In 1985 French photojournalist Frank Fournier made the harrowing story of a Colombian girl, trapped for sixty hours following a volcanic mudslide. He too was given a top photographic award.
