406 | 5-Minute Mentoring: Overcoming Anxiety As An Artist

Send us a text If we’re called by God to be creative, doesn’t that mean we should never have trouble creating? There are times when the art is flowing out of us, the paint is leaping oto the canvas, the clay is taking shape at our slightest whims, and we can feel the Holy Spirit co-creating with us. But sometimes it doesn’t feel like that. Sometimes we enter the studio and all we can do is stare at the emptiness, with no inspiration for how to fill it. Does that mean God has abandoned us to our creative anxiety? Well, fear not, my friends. Creative anxiety, writer’s block, imposter syndrome, and all of those issues that creative people face are perfectly normal. You haven’t done anything wrong.
