Dr. Carl Hart is a drug researcher and an occasional drug user because you can be a respectable, intellectual, high-functioning professional and a loving family man and occasionally do a little heroin. If that sounds crazy, why? Why would it be ok if instead of “do heroin” I said “drink whiskey” or “smoke a joint”? Because heroin is harder or more addictive?
