Eating Healthy at Restaurants Is Hard, Not Impossible

Here's a scary fact. Only 1 out of every 1,000 meals served in restaurants qualifies as having "ideal" nutrition. Even scarier? Portion sizes at fast-food restaurants are three times larger than they were in 1950! Could it be that our obsession with eating out is actually making us sick and die younger? It may sound extreme, but given all of the fat, salt, sugar, and sodium being served, it is fair to wonder whether what you order is taking years off of your life. Dr. Vanita Rahman and Matthew Rees, editor of the Food and Health Facts newsletter and senior fellow at the Dartmouth Tuck School of Business, have the facts to back up that argument.
