Last month, President Trump signed the Laken Riley Act into law. The bipartisan piece of legislation was inspired by the murder of 22-year-old Georgia nursing student Laken Riley, who was murdered by an illegal immigrant. The measure makes it easier for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to detain illegal immigrants who are accused of theft and violent crimes.
