The diverse people, cultures, stories, and history of the city inspire his work. James authored the e-books The Essentials of Street Photography and Street Photography Conversations and runs popular photography tours of New York. Of James’ notable work was a three-year project documenting changing neighborhoods of New York through portraits and interviews with residents for the NY Daily News. He is currently working on an ongoing two-year portrait and interview project documenting the longtime residents, artists, musicians, and creatives of the East Village neighborhood of New York, known for its eclectic past and population.
