(1/18/23) Zero Days to Expiration (DTE) Options have become a large part of the daily trading of options in the markets: Investors buying options on stocks with less than one-day to maturity, essentially betting on market movement. This also creates movement in the underlying stocks, primarily those that have been beaten down over the last year. We look at Marathon Digital as an example (MARA Nasdaq). All this to explain some of the volatility being seen now in the market. The market rallied about the 200-DMA on Tuesday. Futures are pointing higher this morning, and a confirmation above the 200-DMA would be a bullish sign suggesting pries are going to continue to move up. And, while there is still some bearish sentiment afoot, there is also some improvement in the bullish technical set up, suggesting that October could very well have been the low for the market.
