(2/6/23) Markets have been a hot air balloon, not too unlike the Chinese "weather" balloon shot down over the weekend: The S&P is ahead 7.7% for the year, the NASDAQ up 14.7%! With markets this over-bought, a selloff at this point would be no surprise. This would be a good time to take some profits. Fundamentals do not support this rapid rise in the markets, which have been primarily a FOMO chase for investors hoping the Fed is going to stop hiking rates. Markets are now pricing-in two additional rate hikes for 2023.
