Has It Really Been Such a Terrible Bear Market? (4/25/23)

(4/25/23) Has it really been sych a terrible bear market? Let's get some perspective: Most recently mkarets have enojyed anice rally from the mid-March lows; the current stall is no surprise; that's how markets work. Proximity to a MACD Sell signal now would suggest we're in for a down-ish period with some relaxation in the price advance. But, again, in perspective, markets are close to their highs for the year. The reality is, markets really haven't gone anywhere since October of last year, nor since the last couple of years. Remember that 30% decline when the pandemic began? Looks like only a blip in the grand scheme of things now because of the magnitude of the advance from that level. And from the Fed's perspective, the market is still well intact, which is why they're not very concerned about markets while continuing to raise interest rates. Investors would be well advised to remember where we came from; there is still some weakness in the markets, but on a longer term view, the bull market remains firmly intact.
