(6/12/23) The NASDAQ has been the star of the year for investors with Technology stocks leading the way. Is the NASDAQ now due for some type of correction? Technical indicators suggest such just may be the case. The NASDAQ is trading 20% above its 200-DMA--an achievement that has occurred only 15 times since 1983. The NASDAQ is also trading above three standard deviations over the 50-DMA. Funny thing about moving averages: They tend to act like gravity, pulling higher prices back down (by definition, an average needs to have an upper AND a lower range.) Market history will bear this out. Will this time be different? Most likely, not.
