Current Market Weakness is Normal...but... (10/23/23)

(10/23/23) Markets are working within that Summer weakness correctional phase, quite normal for October of a pre-election year. Weakness typically runs through the month of October, with stronger performance in November & December. Markets are set to open lower this morning, flirting with the 200-DMA. Take care not to make the common mistake of making a move before the break in the moving average has been confirmed. The confirmed break is your signal to sell to reduce risk in your portfolio. It is not uncommon to see markets break, and then turn right back around an rally higher.
