(1/25/23) Non-dollar denominated assets have been in vogue of late, predicated on Dollar weakness. Because most global commodities are traded in dollar-values, a stronger dollar would make those things more expensive. A weaker dollar would bode well for US exports. The weaker dollar of late has been good for Gold, too. The question is whether or not that trade has gotten ahead of itself; if the dollar continues to weaken, such trades will have legs. Fun fact: Gold has under-performed relative to US stocks, since 2009. Is that dynamic changing? It all comes back to the Dollar.
