(4/4/23) Despite all the bearish market commentary from headlines and podcasts, plus negative news about a looming economic recession, the market continues to perfrom better. Markets have continued a rising trend established in October of higher lows, and on Monday rallied above a downtrend line originating in April 2022. All of this sets up markets to rally to about 4,200. Analysts are now ratcheting-up predictions for 2% economic growth this year, and the S&P increasing estimates for companies. This flies in the face of the idea of recession because of the Fed's rate hikes. It's all very confusion for investors, but in the short term, technicals remain very positive. Markets are becoming a bit over-bought in the short term, as well. There are several layers of resistance between 4,100 and 4,400, all of which are possible targets.
