(10/2/23) Futures are flat after being elevated following Sunday's passage of another Continuing Resolution to keep the Federal Government running for another 45-days (without a budget). We're about to walk right into another earnings season, and from a technical perspective, markets are doing okay, and starting to flatten the bottom. It would not be surprising to see markets establish a lower high by the end of the year. Markets are on track to finish the year with about a 12% gain. There is potential for a near-term rally in October into November, but December could be a little "iffy." Markets can always do things you don't expect. We're about 8% into a 10% correction, and that's the set up for a year-end rally.
