(2/15/23) [NOTE This report was recorded prior to this morning's release of Retail Sales showing an greater-than-expected 3% MOM increase in January, and 6.4% rises YOY.] Markets have likely started a correctional phase that could last for a few weeks. It's not uncommon; we've seen this before. Two things to keep in mind: The updaise from here will be a limited trading range, and if you're looking to take on additional equity risk, be patient, and wait for a pullback for a better entry point. The other thing to consider is that this rally may have peaked, something we won't know for certain for a bit. Stronger retail sales were higher than expected, suggesting the Fedw ill have to keep hiking rates to cool things down.
