Is Measuring Markets By Equal-weighting Better? (12/12/23)

12/12/23) How can you accurately measure your portfolio performance when the "Magnificent 7" gaggle of stocks this year has literally domninated market performance metrics. Perhaps a better metric would be to compare against the RSP equal-weighted index. Markets do continue to run up: The S&P, Dow, & NASDAQ all over-bought; the Russell 2000 is also in rally mode, but somewhat weaker in performance. Volatility is very low at this point, but that could change with reduced trading aas the holidays draw near. Meanwhile, November CPI clocked-in at an expected .1% rate.
