Retail Sales were expected to be weaker than expected (sure enough, January Retail sales were down .8%) which could potentially affect today's activity. On a short-term basis, markets are doing fine, bounding off the 20-DMA, and the bullish trend remains intact. The real challenge is the gap between the S&P and the underlying 200-DMA, and the further we move away from that, the harder it will be for prices to continue to move up. At some point, some type of corrective action will occur. Bonds continue to do well after a nice pullback. Bond prices are holding support as we become more oversold. We're looking for additional rotations out of stocks into bonds as markets begin to work off a bit of over-exuberance. NVDIA continues to have a very strong run, surpassing Amazon and Google in terms of market cap, securing its place as the number-three stock in the S&P Index. NVIDIA is up almost 30% this year.
