Taper Temptation or Low Liquidity | Three Minutes on Markets & Money 8/26/21

How might markets respond to Comments from Fed Governors Esther George & James Bullard indicating they'd like to see it sooner than later? Inflation and supply chain disruptions remain a problem for the economy, and plunging consumer sentiment isn't helping, either. The lack of liquidity is the biggest risk to markets: Pay attention to market volume on buys. The differential in liquidity is the gap between buyers and sellers. Buyers are struggling with higher levels of pricing. We're once again approaching record buy backs. NASDAQ buying is occurring on much lower levels of volume. Two things to watch over next several months: Retraction in earnings estimates and tapering from the Fed.
