Some help from a local university to help furloughed feds broaden their horizons during their forced time off

With many federal employees currently furloughed, American University's School of Public Affairs is a day of free learning and networking opportunities for government employees who have been impacted by the shutdown. It's an idea that was sparked from one of the previous shutdowns, and has garnered some positive feedback.
