While the Kahn Center is a cardiac clinic, Dr. Kahn deals with issues throughout the body as many conditions produce a network of diseases. One example is the very common condition called NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease or NASH). A new term is MAFLD for metabolic associated FLD to stress the whole-body connection. This week the focus is on detecting NAFLD, searching for heart disease risk in those with it, and reversing it with data and supplements. Weight loss and the fasting-mimicking diet (PROLON) are also of use.
