Mary was just 15 and desperately looking for a way to get home to her family when she accepted a ride from a kindly old looking man. What transpired that night however is the stuff of nightmares. The man, Lawrence Singleton, abducted, raped and maimed Mary with an axe, leaving her for dead at the bottom of a 30ft ravine. But Mary survived.
