Thiago Alcantara’s first Liverpool goal was enough to secure all three points, adding to Sadio Mane’s opener, as Liverpool saw off Southampton 2-0 at Anfield. Fresh from the late setbacks against Leeds and Newcastle, the Reds got back to winning ways to close the gap to Leicester City to six points, with a game in hand, ahead of the run-in.
