2340: POTS, High Ammonia, Lectins & Gut Health, Continuing Detox, No Eyebrows, Fuzzy Teeth (HouseCall)

I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Khadijah: Hi! I have a few questions about POTS. Basically, last year my doctor prescribed me four different birth controls within five months since I was getting side effects, and these hormonal changes triggered PCOS. I broke out I. Terrible acne and my hair started falling out s my dermatologist prescribed spirolactone. When I was on this medication I was passing out, had terrible joint pain, and fainting. I was bed ridden for weeks my side effects were so bad. I went off out it realizing it was the medication, but it also caused lasting side effects including reactive hypoglycemia and POTs. I've changed my diet from vegan to keto and that's helped with the hypoglycemia, but my heart is still super irregular and I'll start sweating, getting incredibly anxious and have a very fast or very low heart rate. Also I just feel so tired and my hands and feet get cold and numb. How do I heal this? I want to exercise and go out without feeling awful, and drink alcohol and coffee without feeling like a may have a heart attack. Alicja (Ah-leets-yah): Hi Dr. Cabral My question today is about ammonia levels. I run Candida, Metabolic and Vitamins Test and it showed I have a very high levels on Ammonia Excess (Orotic) I believe that also that high ammonia contributes to my bed sleep at night. Others in the healthcare space have suggested that foods like beans, bell peppers and tomatoes can contribute to leaky gut due to their lectins creating microscopic tears in the intestinal wall. Can I keep doing another round or is there a limit Bridget: My friends 12 year old son was born with no eyebrows. He does have a few hairs that are blonde but you can't really see them unless you look hard. He has brown hair otherwise. Do you know what could cause this? As he gets older, the kids at school get meaner. He does have allergies to peanuts, animals and is a bit overweight. Other than that he seems like a healthy kid. I'm over halfway through the CBO protocol now, and I'm noticing a huge increase in plaque and calculus build up on my teeth. Ever since I cleaned up my diet about 5 or 6 years ago, I noticed I would barely build up any plaque and never built up calculus. I couldn't believe how clean my teeth always felt and always got comments from the my dentist and hygienist. But now all of a sudden after starting this protocol, I always have 'fuzzy' teeth and it drives me crazy! I was a dental assistant for 7 years and still work in the dental field. Do you think perhaps this could be a vitamin or mineral imbalance? I'm wondering if I'm getting too much of something. I take 1-2 scoops of DNS daily alongside my other supplements that I've always taken. The only supplements that have changed would be adding DNS, switching to EquiLife alkalizing vitamin c, omega 3, and daily thyroid support.
