My question is for my 15-year-old daughter, she has irregular, heavy periods, sometimes as often as every two weeks. On the day before and /or the first few days of her period she is in so much pain due to stomach aches and cramps, sometimes she feels like she is going to throw up, she has to miss school or soccer. My fear if we go to her regular doctor they will put her on birth control. I know birth control and hormones are not a good option especially because she is so young. I am looking for a healthier option because I hate to see her in pain. Thank you for your expertise! Anneke: Hi Stephen! Hi from Australia! My question is in relation to my 8yo son. Since the age of around 3 he has had what I would have called 'reflux' but upon doing some research it seems to be more like 'GERD' but I can't be sure. He regurgitates small amounts of food about 4-5 times a day, I haven't been able to pinpoint any particular food that causes it. He says tomatoes give him a sore tummy so we avoid those but there's nothing else that stands out. Behaviourally he is my most intense child out of 3, I do wonder if this relates to these possible gut health issues. I took him to our family GP a few times about the vomiting and his answer was always 'he will grow out of it'. But being 8yo now I feel its time to really do some proper investigation and find the cause. What should I do diet-wise to try and alleviate his symptoms or what kind of testing should I be chasing? Would I seek out a naturopath, nutritionist or an integrative GP (all the integrative GPs in my area have closed their books or have year long wait lists adding to my frustration). Its getting to the point where he will vomit in class and swallow it down for fear of embarrassment. His breath smells and he's becoming self conscious about it. Any advice is hugely appreciated. Best, Anneke Deanna: hi, Thank you for your very informative podcast! I have a question. Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have been getting fever blisters on a constant basis. I have not been ill other than a few mild colds, and usually only get them when I have a fever or if I am out in prolonged hot sun. Neither of those are the case for me. I have tried using lysine, which has helped in the past, but it is not helping. I am wondering if this could be a symptom of EMF exposure? Ashley: I have had swollen lymph nodes in my groin area since I was a child. They're not painful or red looking but they are larger than normal and move around easily. What is causing this? How can I fix it? Bonnie: I'm not sure I can say specific names on questions- butI just purchased a (Lucia NO3) Light source- can you tell me your intake on the light thereapy systems available- I just love it and am looking forward to using it personally and possibly sharing with friends. It is a hypnagogic light experience - it has one halogen center ring and 4 LED around it. You lay under it with your eyes closed while the light goes through a programed sequence of flickering. I personally feel bliss and sleep like a baby at night following. Maria: Hi Dr Cabral, I was looking for a good sourdough bread, and found one made from khorasan flour. From my internet searching, it is a type of 'ancient grain wheat' also called kamut. As I have heard lots of the problems with wheat/gluten is from modern day wheat, Would this be something to give a try? forever grateful for you work!
