1920: Cholecalciferol, Cavities, Anti-Viral Mushroom, Near Death Experience, Stuttering, Black Mold (HouseCall)

Kazz: Hi Dr Cabral, thank you so much for sharing with us all your health knowledge, it is so appreciated! I have a question regarding vitamin D3 and the ingredient you use, specifically cholecalciferol. I searched on your podcasts for information regarding this and couldn't find.. I have heard, and my own follow-up research results show, that this ingredient is also used in rat poison and there seem to be some adverse effects from it in humans where they have similar symptoms as rats when poisoned by this. I'm sure you have some information on this and I'd love to hear more about it from your perspective, maybe even a whole podcast on it if you feel there is much info and people would benefit from hearing it. There is not too much discussion on this online that I can see and maybe your balanced perspective on cholecalciferol would benefit people when they are researching it. I'd love a juicy discussion about it from you if it is worthy of one, and why you think it is a good thing for us to take when it is an ingredient in rat poison. I do understand that most of us are deficient in vit d and supplementing benefits us, but why cholecalciferol when it seems to be used in rat poison? And then, what about the symptoms some people experience when taking it? Jenna: Hey Dr. Cabral! You and your team have helped me so much over the past 4 years with digestive distress and acne troubles, and I am so greatful for all that you do! I was wondering if you had any podcasts that go into depth on cavities? I went to the dentist in December and had to get 5 cavities filled, and I feel like I already have another one 4 months later. I eat well, limit my coffee intake to 2 cups a day maximum (yes I know I can still do better here), and exercise daily. I breathe through my nose normally, but in times of stress (my day job gets very stressful) and during hard workouts, I breathe through my mouth. Could this cause cavity formations? I never used to get cavities as a child, and got my first one at 18 years old. I'd love to get your take! Stephanie: Hi Dr Cabral! I'm wondering if you have any new research or updated information about the AHCC supplement? Almost a year ago on one of your Friday Review podcasts, you had briefly mentioned this supplement and specifically related it to HPV but said that you couldn't say much more about it. I recently had an abnormal pap test with atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance with a positive test for other HR-HPV (not 16 or 18). This is the reason I have been interested in the research on AHCC. My next question is do you know of a good, high quality AHCC supplement that I could purchase? Stephanie Victor: After a near death accident in 1994, I have not aged one day. Peopke can't believe when they see pictures of 30 years ago and even my primary doctor has said so. Can you explain? Hayley: Hi Dr Cabral, hoping you can offer some suggestions. Stuttering in children... I have an 8 year old son who has suffered with stuttering off and on over the years however had gotten worse and has been very persistent over the past 2 or so years now. He's been seeing a speech therapist for a while now who offers techniques but it's not really helping. A couple years ago we did the gut rebuilding protocol and a food sensitivity test. Nothing had seemed to shift it although I have read that increasing B1 and some amino acids may help. He regularly has DNS, we are mostly plant based and gf. I give additional zinc, c, b12 and iron when I suspect these are on the low side. Being in Australia I can no longer afford postage and the cost of further testing, do you know of anything else we could try? My questions is about my 7 year old son- from age 3-4.5 we lived in a home with black mold- I have tested positive and have been working the CBO and mold protocol myself. My son sneezes constantly, especially in the am- also struggles with paying attention in school and listening/complying with us. I am sure we have gotten out of the mold house, and I've had our current house tested. He tested allergic to mold and dust at the doctor, but I've not done a urine test for him. I want to help him and get rid of his symptoms. Assuming he does have mold, is there a kid protocol that is safe? Thanks so much- your advice is greatly appreciated!
